Oh Captain, My Captain

Adam Bock's avatar Adam Bock

Like so many others my age, I grew up laughing at Robin William’s comedies and being inspired by his more serious roles. So when I heard of his death in August of 2014, it was extremely disheartening. While it might not have been a personal loss of someone close to me, it was indeed something I bereaved. Society as a whole lost a great talent and an inspiring man. This painting is not meant to exploit or cash in on the media craze that often follows the death of someone famous. Instead, it is merely a memorial and my method of coping with the loss of a man who inspired myself and so many others. In an attempt to help prevent further tragedies of this nature, half of any proceeds generated from this painting will go to the American Society for Suicide Prevention.
