No Way Jose

"No Way Jose" is an oil painting based on a microscopic image of tequila. After working with scientists and engineers for just over a decade and becoming utterly fascinated with the intrinsic beauty of microscopic images, I have felt a need to hone in on my artistic inspiration since departing from that career path. Recently, I’ve been inspired and encouraged to use the power of the Internet to explore my previous passions with my current experiences. I have found that the beauty of alcohol as viewed under a microscope is the perfect inspiration for what I hope to be a series of paintings over the course of the next year. “No Way Jose” is a conduit to break-through the monotony of a creative hiatus and allows us to take a deeper look at the structure of alcohol and try to understand what drives people to drink it. It forces us to look inward, both figuratively and literally from a microscopic perspective.
