Joy's Horizon: Building Bridges 10,000 recycled plastic bottles crafted into colorful blooms are woven together in this collaborative installation. Recycled plastic bottles, pernicious and persistent, are transformed into something treasured and ephemeral. From grade school students who delight in polka dots, to artists who perfectly execute fringe and petals, individuals of all ages and capabilities took scissors to discarded bottles and experienced the wonder of possibility; diverse communities bridged together by hope. Joy abides on the horizon between pain and beauty, weakness and grace. Plastic trash, a material we go to great lengths to get rid of, is transfigured into a celebration of color and form. Explore the panel of blues, greens, yellows, and purples. Travel its length and brush your hand upon the curls of plastic, and join us in a dance on joy’s horizon.
