Exquisite Corpse II consists of 2 full-body wearable art pieces displayed on mannequins at the Boardwalk Condominiums. The project began as a cross-country experiment linking together fine art and fashion through the blind creation of a wearable art piece. Communication between the artists was forbidden during the creation process. When the first Exquisite Corpse was assembled there was a sudden cohesiveness that spoke of each artist’s experience and invited the viewers to create their own stories about the work. Exquisite Corpse 2 is a continuation of the 2013 Exquisite Corpse piece shown at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. http://www.artprize.org/memory-stanch/2013/exquisite-corpse Viewers of the 2013 Exquisite Corpse were invited to join the experiment exploring stream of consciousness by submitting drawings of their own. 3 of these drawings were randomly selected, and has been used as the inspiration for each section of the body in this year’s Exquisite Corpse 2.
