Luminous: Interpretations from the Heavens and Earth

My ArtPrize submission consists of large scale installation pieces, showcasing the uniquely beautiful interaction between glass and light. Themes I use deal with both abstraction and real life. For ArtPrize, I will be installing at least 4, wall mounted sculptures ranging from four to seven feet in diameter, possibly larger and potentially also free standing installation work, assuming that I can secure the proper venue. The pieces pictured here are to be shown at ArtPrize, however, I would like to make more if the venue allows. Glass as a material exhibits, in an almost other-worldly way, qualities of color-depth and translucence unparalleled by other media. However, those qualities can be very hard to capture. By using LEDs to internally illuminate each individual part, I am able to showcase both color-depth and varied translucence in a way that mesmerizes the viewer, compelling them to experience intricacies of color and visual texture in glass as they have never done before.
