Lake of the Clouds Sunrise

‘Lake of the Clouds Sunrise’ was taken in October of 2013 in the Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The image was taken with a Canon D5, Mark III SLR Camera using a 16-35 mm wide angle lens. The panoramic image consists of 6 separate photographs that were stitched together in Photoshop. One of my goals as a Photographer is to create a digital image that allows a viewer to feel and experience the same sense of awe that I felt at the time that the image was captured. The symbolism of the sunrise can have special meaning for each one of us. Each breaking sunrise represents a new beginning, a new life, and a fresh start. It allows us to leave our adversities and failures in the past and helps us to look forward to a new beginning each day. Appreciating each dawning sunrise can help us to appreciate this awesome life we’ve been blessed with. “Because of the Lords great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22,23” May you be reminded when you view your next sunrise that when life is dark and things get difficult, God’s guiding hand will see you through.
