It's All About Ewe

This is a team painting of a small herd of sheep from Montana. A colleague of mine went to a sheep ranch every year to help out during the time when the sheep are sheared. He brought back hundreds of photos. After looking through the images, I was fascinated by the perspective of being stared at by so many docile animals. I selected a number of the photos and then researched sheep online and by visiting state fairs in Washington State. When my wife Wendy would ask what I had worked on that day, I would say something like, "The third sheep from the left in the second row." That didn't go over well with her so we decided to name each one of the sheep. That way I could say, "I worked on Bridget and Veronica today." To my delight, when my colleague took a print of this image to the owner of the ranch, the owner recognized some of the sheep and commented that Flo was alive and well.
