Pottery Collection

For ArtPrize 2013 I have created a collection of pottery. The images I draw on my pots are of objects of things I see around me, living and working in West Michigan. Flowers from my garden, light houses, boats, sculpture anything I see could end up illustrated on a pot. This collection was made the summer of 2013. For Example: The Hollyhock pot is an inspiration from a trip to Mackinaw Island. My work is a visual diary of my life. I am a potter and a Painter. The nature I see around me, Sara Galner’s work and the Arts and Crafts movement of the early 1900’s are major inspirations for my pottery. I am inspired by the aesthetic of Pollack, Klee, Frankenthaler and the modern art movement when I paint.
