Marta

"Marta" named after my sister suffering from A.L.S., is a large outdoor sculpture. She's also a butterfly and over 8 feet tall with a wing span of 9 feet. This human butterfly is releasing several butterflies into the air along with one dragonfly. Marta loves dragonflies. When you look at the sculpture's wings, you see nothing. But look through and spin the polarized viewer, you will see a flood of beautiful colors. Like magic it appears. I introduced this form of art to the ArtPrize last year, but unfortunately it wasn't seen by many people, so I thought I'd try it again with a new piece. The B.O.B. couldn't be a better place to show. "Marta" is accompanied by a 10 1/2 foot tree with branches that twist and wind, while the leaves quietly chime in the soft breeze. It's actually a giant wind chime. Under the root system of the tree lives a family of 6 bunnies that children are tickled to discover. Please come and visit The B.O.B. It's filled with some pretty wonderful art.
