Water Vortices began with the archetypal lines water makes as it flows past a bridge pier, rock, or other obstruction. I drew these lines in pencil on a large roll of paper to which reflective Tyvek was pasted on the back side. Then I cut it out to create a new drawing made from positive and negative space on the reverse, Tyvek side. To these surfaces I added hundreds of silver Mylar dots of confetti which reminded me of sun dancing on water. Three of these forms are arranged and layered together to create a new drawing in space.
