Discursive Mind

This piece was inspired by nature. I was thinking about all of the trillions of bits of activity going on in nature. A serene landscape is really a bee hive of activiy. I called it Discursive Mind because when I meditate my thoughts become very busy and distracting. When I start a piece like this one, I start by laying out shapes. colors, values. The piece will start to take me on a journey. I thought this piece was completed a few months ago and I put it away. When I brought it out again it started talking to me. I knew it needed somthing more. I am always surprised at how things turn out.
