The MINI Art Car is a collaboration between MINI of Grand Rapids and Kendall College of Art and Design that began in 2011 as a design contest. The winning submission was to be entered into ArtPrize 2012. Tyler Wayner's design, MedMileMINI, won the competition and will be featured at The B.O.B. Any ArtPrize winnings for this piece will be awarded to Tyler.
Grand Rapids is primarily known for two things: ArtPrize and the Medical Mile. What better way to show off a city with such strong artistic and medical background than by using the MINI brand? Tyler designed this piece as a multi-level design that allows for a lot of interactivity. The focus of the design is the x-ray wrap but also includes elements on the ground, an augmented reality app, and Facebook page.
