Guardians bigger than life 7'X 4' each. There are 4 separate paintings in this group. "This exhibit is titled “Guardians” by painter, Derek Perkins. Derek was inspired by a trip this year to the Christian churches of Ethiopia. This is a series of four, seven foot tall angels painted in the Ethiopian Coptic style mixed with Derek’s own unique methods. The paintings are inscribed in Amharic with Bible verses and each features colors and images symbolic to Christian theology. The first painting in the series, “Holy Ground,” displays the Commander of the Lord's Army taken from the book of Joshua Chapter 5 just before the fall of Jericho. The next painting in this series is “The Great Prince, Michael” taken from the book of Daniel, chapter 12. Michael stands wielding a flaming sword and commanding the locusts. The third piece in this exhibit is the angel from Revelations 10. It gives an awesome representation of the apocalyptic events in John’s prophetic vision.
