My paintings and drawings explore a visual world where the idea of representation is somewhat skewed. I invest a great deal of time and energy into my work to create imagery that flows, pushes and pulls the viewer, without limiting their ideas of what the image may be. Listening to viewers look at a piece and share what they see is reminiscent of hearing children find objects in the clouds, and almost as enjoyable as creating the work in the first place. With my work I hope to create conversations, to spark that moment between a person and an image where interpretation flows freely. My hope is that no two people will have the same experience while looking at an image. And in turn each person can walk away with a different source of inspiration, and a new outlook on what is in front of them in their everyday lives.
