"Recital" is one of many abstract works that could be considered cubist, or fragmented, that I have painted in recent years. The medium is oil on canvas and is 24"H x 18"W and depicts a musician playing an oboe type instrument in a recital hall setting. The longer you look, the more elements of the picture appear then disappear back into the linear web of color fragments. It is basically monochromatic with the colors scheme consisting of a spectrum of colors falling between blue and red. I completed this in late 2009 and it has been included in group exhibitions and solo shows. I hope you enjoy viewing this and all the great entries in ArtPrize 2012.
