Waters Center
The Waters Building is a downtown Grand Rapids landmark that occupies the entire length of the block between Pearl and Lyon Streets on Ottawa Avenue. It is home to The Grand Rapids Chamber of Commerce, West Michigan Community Bank, Paul Goebel Group, Grand Rapids Bar Association and numerous other prestigious firms. It overlooks Rosa Parks Circle and the Grand Rapids Art Museum. It was constructed in 1898, as a furniture exposition building when Grand Rapids served as the nation's center for residential furniture manufacturing. In the 1950's thru the 1970's is was gradually converted to an office building. It's large lobby and central location make it a hub for downtown activity. Today, the Waters Center houses the Hilton Homewood Suites, 44 newly finished apartments, and over 30 commercial offices.
